FOR SMOKERS ONLY

Innovative Stop-Smoking Program from Cancer Expert

There are 46 million U.S. smokers... addicted to nicotine. Smoking will kill 419,000 of them this year, while fewer than 10% will quit.
Now a fresh voice offers an innovative program for quitting cigarettes using smokeless tobacco and tiny new non-tobacco mint pouches.
Dr. Brad Rodu, author of For Smokers Only: How Smokeless Tobacco Can Save Your Life (Sulzburger & Graham, $11.99), says it's the components of smoke that kill people, not the nicotine.
Dr. Rodu shows how a switch to "invisible", socially acceptable smokeless tobacco can save smoker's lives. His self-help program uses tiny pouches of tobacco that sit invisibly between the gum and lip... satisfying nicotine need with none of the mess associated with "chew" tobacco. For Smokers Only scientifically documents that smokeless tobacco is far safer than smoking (though some health risk remains).
After a smoker switches to tobacco pouches, the next step is to shift to a tobacco-free alternative called Mint Snuff Pouches from the Oregon Mint Snuff Company.
Dr. Rodu is Professor of Pathology and Senior Scientist at the University of Alabama/Birmingham Cancer Center. His research has been published in major medical journals in the U.S. and internationally.

"The vast majority of smokers can't quit tobacco because of their nicotine addiction and the associated habitual behavior of reaching for a cigarette," Rodu says. "The first step in my program is to reduce risk by switching from smoking to the smokeless pouch. This breaks the behavior pattern, while satisfying the quitter's need for nicotine. The former smoker can then quit tobacco altogether by substituting Mint Snuff Pouches."

Dr. Rodu has no connection with the tobacco industry. He strongly discourages tobacco initiation for all age groups. For Smokers Only is available at bookstores or by calling 1-800-366-7086. Mint Snuff can be found at many Kroger Stores, or call 1-800-EAT-MINT. Also available online
